Where can I find a programmer

Tun@:
Is this for hobby or work purposes?
If work, perhaps it is time to have a new app written? (I mean what does this program actually do?)
If hobby, perhaps someone else has a newer application on the internet somewhere that you could use?

For work Gnome- it connects to a receiver that captures realtime satellite data as the satellite passes. I can then view raw weather images or sea surface temperatures. There is other software that is newer but it only works with that companies receiver.I already have the receiver & ariel for this one & to replace isn't too cheap a move.

Tun@: There looks like configuration files for the different satellites names QFAX0000.CFG thru QFAX0018.CFG.
QFAX0012.CFG is one for Noaa 17, what happens if you copy that file to QFAX0019.CFG and edit it to Noaa 18?

Some parameters might be different, but you might be able to get it to work from there...

I think i tried that route before & the problem was the exe knew nothing about the newer Noaa's (18 + 19)& wouldn't add the satellite to the "monitor & receive" part of the prog.(top right - "add satellite")

The elements.dat file - i update/replace every couple of weeks - Atm to get the prog to receive the newer sats i rename the newer sats to older sats in the elements.dat file & have the newer sats frequency set in the CFG file so i got a way around it so i can receive them but its ugly.
Just thought that if someone was wizard enough to tweak into the prog Noaa 18 + 19 so it would work straight off the elements dat file it would save a bit of mucking around.

Within the prog i can create new .CFG file with correct name, freq's & settings, that's no problem, but the link between elements.dat & the exe seems to be the issue - the exe reads the elements.dat but doesn't know nothing about N18/N19 to accept them to be added.
Hope that's understandable.
This is what the elements.dat file has in it - http://www.celestrak.com/NORAD/elements/weather.txt
Each 2 line sentence is related to the sat name above it.

@ @Tun:

Nobody will be able to change your program without having the source code.

I did some googling. Looks like QFAX was written in 1995. probably in Pascal or C++

Have a look at this link: http://vetusware.com/download/Qfax 3.52/?id=6478http://vetusware.com/download/Qfax%203.52/?id=6478

That page heading reads: the biggest free abandonware downloads collection in the universe.

On the other site you mentioned ( http://www.celestrak.com/ ) click on
Software Repository.

There seems to be lots of "newer" options available. Maybe it is time to upgrade.

If you still need help, I am available as a programmer.
