I am trying to upgrade my website and to begin with I need someone to write a php script for a form. After that I will need to have something done to my site so my users can update their own info without having to bother me to do it (have their own login details, set fields that would need to be completed etc). Unfortunelty I am no good at programming, although I have done a basic script for a form I still need to sort out many things with it, but running my own business means I don't have weeks to sit and try and figure it all out.
Where can I find a programmer to approach so I can get some quotes and get this headache sorted! Thanks.

Thanks, am busy trying itfreelance.co.za, will see how that goes.

Honestly, I wouldn't trust anyone I find on this website. People are quoting without even knowing what the actual project is. Bah, I guess you get what you pay for :/

I would offer my services, but i actually want a holiday this year. You might try a honours class at a varisty they are usually all equipped to do this sort of thing, and they will be cheapish.

Yeah, unfortunately it appears that we are all on leave here on the forum. @Unwind, if you haven't come right, PM me. I'm sure we can sort you out. Christmas is usually a time we programmers tend to take for ourselves, that's all.

+1

Thanks guys, I will get back to you in the new year then.

Did PM you details of someone that could help this year still.

If anyone is interested in some work -
I got a DOS based programme that receives satellite images,it's too old to recognise the newer Noaa 18 & 19 satellites,i do have a workaround that i use but if anyone thinks they might be able to modify the prog to accept the new ones without me fiddling i'm up for paying to get it done.

Basically what it won't do is recognise the Noaa 18 & Noaa 19 sentences within this file.....which needs to be used to update the prog every couple of weeks to maintain accurate position data.
The .exe doesn't know about Noaa 18 or Noaa 19 as its too old & support for the prog stopped years ago.
Prog works on those sats if i rename then to older ones.

@Tun@: What language is the original program written in?

Tun@:
Is this for hobby or work purposes?
If work, perhaps it is time to have a new app written? (I mean what does this program actually do?)
If hobby, perhaps someone else has a newer application on the internet somewhere that you could use?

Tun@: There looks like configuration files for the different satellites names QFAX0000.CFG thru QFAX0018.CFG.
QFAX0012.CFG is one for Noaa 17, what happens if you copy that file to QFAX0019.CFG and edit it to Noaa 18?

Some parameters might be different, but you might be able to get it to work from there...
