Where do you live?

Where do you currently live:
Durbanville, Cape Town

Why did you select this neighborhood, town or city:
Did not. Parents moved here in 1974 from Joburg. However, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else (locally).

Did you select a place to live and then found work in that area?
Yes, just kind out worked out that way. 10 mins from office now

Langeberg Ridge (Kraaifontein).
- I work in Bellville 10km away
- Shops ... Cape Gate, Makro, Checkers, Take Aways, Restaurants all in 2km radius. (That Dros where you guys had the mybb meets are walking distance from my home).
- Medi-Clinic across the street
- Safe neighbourhood with a very enthusiastic neighbourhood watch.
- Great neighbours
- Close to N1
- Close to kids school

We have been living here for 10years and love it.
See you on Saturday at 2pm. We're having another meet. The first one since May.

Benoni. 90% of my clients are on the East Rand. Benoni specifically because I was able to buy a house and I hate living in flats.

Berario (Google is your friend). Quiet neighbourhood, plenty of parks, great community spirit. Moved there to be in catchment area of the preferred schools for my son's education. Both Primary and High in easy walking distance. Not great for work though as traffic is a killer, but distance is fine.

Brakpan - Sunair Park: Because buying a house out here costs nothing, also water and power costs nothing and we always have it. Loadshedding doesn't apply to our area. Downside is a 120KM round trip to work

Century Shitty, but since they closed down Ratanga, I had to move up the road to under the bridge, and the other guys all have prime real-estate already. 100m from bed to shop front.

Times are getting harder, as less white people give money, so we (the wife and I) have started hustling inside canal walk.

The wife says:
All in all a nice area, lots of whites, lots of foreigns, easy to ask, and you can just look hurt or hard done by, and people will try and help. It's great! We sometimes borrow Martins boy (but he's getting a bit old now, he's 6) for those high impact Fridays. Normally works out, and he is happy with a macdondald happy meal. So we end up making about R400 for the day.

Boksburg. Had family living in the East rand. It just seemed to be a central area with good access to lots of highways, unlike the West rand. Also very close to the airport which is big bonus.

North eastern suburbs of Pretoria, pretty much on the foothills of the Magaliesberg

PTA East - Garsfontein

Not close to work at all (Rosebank) but close to the kids' school and Wife's work

Lots of development going on but great access to highways and decent places to go out (Menlyn Maine, Parkview etc). Still relative safe
