Yep very important! I did measure my case but neglected to take my ram height into consideration, luckily I managed... Some motherboards allow the cooler to be mounter vertically which would then leave your ram slots open and accessible... (The intake fan would be against your gfx card, but from the research I've seen this method actually increases cooling performance if you have outlet fans on the top of your case. It could differ from case to case though...)
Couldn't you get something like the Antec Kuhler H2O 920 @R1127? Else another chassis?
Haha no prob! lol regular temp readings would be meaningless >.< As you said yourself one could go and do these tests in a walk in refrigerator or something and brag about the awesome temps they are getting... Next time I will underline and use bold

Those are great temps, honestly. In about a month's time, see if you need to readjust the cooler or loosen and then retighten the screws. Some of these very large coolers require that sort of thing.
It's a decent cooler, but it's old hat now, released first in 2011 (and the USB software is very finicky). Something like the Cooler Master Seidon 120M would work, as it's got a quieter pump than the 120V. Air cooling will always be quieter until you get into custom loops, so that's why the Hyper 212X is still so ridiculously popular.
