<br />LOL, this whole thing has taken everyone by surprise as contentions were not supposed to be an issue at this stage, but they are, and its not just a case of flicking a switch and bingo, we're back on the autobahn like it was a week or 2 ago.
We have just formed a special bandwidth planning task group today and although it may seem a while to some before anything concrete happens, but I can assure you we will do whatever it takes to have a solid system [

Sad but true, Telkom can't be moved to provide services with the flick of a switch if one needs better bandwidth at the accesspoint ProASM mentioned elsewhere - and we can't expect Telkom to do their enemies a favour either...
What will the service levels be? Will Sentech be willing to publish a metric against which clients (and potential clients) can measure if they will receive value for money?
We are so used to Telkom and their darkness in the days of transparency that consumers are prepared to buy blindly.
I believe that ICASA should be requested at the ADSL hearings to rule that ISP's have to provide contention ratios (or other suitable metrics) so consumers can make informed decisions.
Just think of all the penalty rebates Sentech would have had to pay to their users over the past few weeks!
South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.
