where is Proasm???

[}:)]

I say we stage a mass sit-in at the Sentech Fourways office park, with all the gauteng users.
We could toyi-toyi, burn a few tyres, put rocks in the entrance, necklace a few Helpdesk techies, roll the CEO's car over and torch it, that kind of thing.

If they wont communicate with us throu normal channels then i guess we need to do something radical. Think Che Guevara.

My 2 cents worth...

Sentech should turn MW into a Open-Source kind of service. They should pick a huge group of members of the public, tech-oriented kind of people like quite a few of us, who can provide support. We should have access to PDF's about the system, documentation, troubleshooting, etc. etc. and people should be able to e-mail us or call us on a 0860 number (which could be diverted to a cell number but you'd still make money out of it). Tech support SMS or e-mail us with downtime info, bandwidth problems, anything which would cause problems then we could communicate that with people who are having probs.

Wireless internet is an exciting develompent in SA, and we shouldn't be cussing and bitching just because Sentech is having a few teething problems. It's normal. It's just their lack of communication with their customers which is causing a problem. If everyone was notified that there were going to be or currently are problems, most would understand.

If 50+ dedicated individuals are willing enough to learn everything they can about the system and troubleshooting thereof, we could help out a fackload of new users...!?? Let's give them a hand (if they want to) and help the service grow.

Well, my connection definitly hit bottom.
... Maybe I can become an artis... take the modem apart, and make a nice piece of art out of it
Would anyone buy it ? :)

Tonight is the first time I need to use a download manager just to get a 8mb download. Cause I only made it till 700k and go dropped.
And every second web-site times out. This is all international though, maybe that's where the problem is.
I geuss I'll go onto shadowfire and pick on gamers or something ;)

Anyways... thought I'd let everyone know ... I'm not alone :) hehe

Off the record [if there is such a thing] I know for a fact that Sentech is trying to fix up their helpdesk/call centre - watch this space

While we are trying to use our connections. So they are updating their staff with new automated responses. Big deal. Unless we can speak directly to the mythical "second level support" not much is going to change. With all the IT savvy people around they can hire more second level if need be and leave the dumba$$ses on the help line for the very new users who dont know much about the service yet (ie. havent come here yet)

ProAsm ... probably out organizing a couple of more lanes on our autobahn.

On the tech support. From my understanding quite a while ago theire was a rumour theire trying to better it. And I'm sure they are.

But even still, tech support people are there to help you sort out standard problems. When it comes to problems like these, (if it was my company) I wouldnt inform you of much either. Even though, I would let you know that there is a problem. But from my understanding atleast this part has been done. But what am I saying, the only times I call tech support is when the ATM took my card :) hehe

Anyways, yeah the situation sucks, but I'm sure sentech is learning from it too :) They should get some web-cam's up at the offices. So we can watch facial expressions of tech support everytime the stuffies hit the fan ;)

HartH - Justy check my Home page if you want to know, I'm not getting bollocked for advertising again .........

Sentech should make a donation to the forum for tech support and PR services ..... well when there still was cheerleaders !

I realy hope they get their shyte sorted ......

PS: ProAsm - JHB International is not up, I had a meeting there today with some high powered people that were flying through. I took my little case and note book along to MW to them ......... me walking aroung the airport like a dumbass looking for signal.

rofl, i can just see you walking around there trying to get a signal. i wouldn't be suprised if a handfull of oaks asked you: "are you the fugitive?".

Airport security asked me what I was doing ..... guess I was looking very dodgy, like a high tech fairy trying to catch some signal with my magic wand.

I only had one (are you the fugitive?) request.

As bad as things are, they can only get better ...... and it's not hat bad.

I have 6 BT's chomping away at the bit's ....

PraAsm is but one person, he can not hold up the entire Sentech like Atlas ........

I he is having some R&R, then he deserves it !

Just let him do his thing, he is here on his own accord, we don't have an SLA with him ........

Dial up for 18 large a year. Fck I'm gonna have
to sell sumptin.

What all this does show us is that everyone's using a moer load of bandwidth, most likely compliments of Kazaa and close companions [:D]

Well that's what people bought this service for and they should get the service they're paying for.. Sentech we're holding thumbs, come on man I want to buy a handful of 512's and get our whole suburb hooked up! On second thought they probly won't like the sound of that heheheheheh
