Where to even apply for VDSL ??

I've been reading a couple of threads with regards to adsl2+ and vdsl hope some of you clever techies could clear something up for me.

My area
Service Available
Maximum speed available in your area 10Mbps (Copper)
Your Current Service speed 4 Mbps

Now vox is offering 20 Mbps vdsl would I be able to make use of it even with my adsl2+ modem ? I understand I will only get 10 Mbps but its only R342.00 where 10 Mbps adsl2+ is R425.00
Also can I request VDSL to be enabled or is this totally telkom decision where and when it gets implemented ?

In theory I do not see why it won't work - unless Telkom refuse to upgrade you to the profile due to the area not supporting it.
I am sure they could do it and just put you on a 10Mbit profile.

Although don't take my word for it - lets wait for something like MickeyD to reply perhaps.

I doubt that Vox will turn you away but they probably will not offer you that product. At a max of 10Mbps that exchange is not even ADSL2+ enabled.

You can waste your time trying as Vox cannot do anything.

Thanks for the info guys. Thinking about telkom call centre ( Sorry for the few that actually know what they are doing ) I think I will give it a pass and upgrade to a normal 10 Mbps on a later stage. To add to things my line went completely dead yesterday morning so me sitting without internet now to add its weekend and its telkom enough said......

How long does telkom usually take to do the vdsl upgrade?

Upto 72 hours, it is the same as an upgrade from 4Mbit to 10Mbit ADSL really.
