Where to get a decent russian???

You have me curious now - We have both Royal Foods and Lynca near me. I'm going to have to try both.

One thing I love is a good russian, like they used to make them years ago. One that is firm and not dried out when deep-fried. When cruising around and I see a fish and chips shop, I would pop in and buy a russian to see if they have good ones. To date I have not found a supplier of good russians. Had high hopes for some I bought at a German delicatessen in Elsburg, but was not impressed with it last night.

Any suggestions where I can source good russians?

I know a long while ago a Steers opened shop, but closed down, then mutated into some generic burger palace where you can buy monstrous burgers from - that also closed down.

There also was a KFC, but it moved to the PNP shopping centre.

Varsity Bakery's still the only fast food place remaining there.... amazing. They must be doing something right to remain in business that long...

Friend of mine also started a cyber cafe there, but had to close it down due to poor business.... I downloaded a lot of stuff there back in the day. Was faster than trying to download via dialup...

It looks basically the same. I had a Russian dog last year. Tasted the same. Chips were a bit more oily than I remembered.

There is also a pizza place that's been there for about 15 years also still going

There was a Porra takeaway in brackendowns. My dad and I would drive 15ks to get these Sputnik babies.

It was 1 meal on its own without chips. But add the slap chips wrapped in paper nonetheless.
