Where to get a decent russian???

One thing I love is a good russian, like they used to make them years ago. One that is firm and not dried out when deep-fried. When cruising around and I see a fish and chips shop, I would pop in and buy a russian to see if they have good ones. To date I have not found a supplier of good russians. Had high hopes for some I bought at a German delicatessen in Elsburg, but was not impressed with it last night.

Any suggestions where I can source good russians?

+1 Not a huge fan of russians but they sell these cheese grillers wrapped in bacon in a roll. Slap on some of that mustard they offer and man . . . They have quite a selection of meats as well. Pork lovers heaven.

At the end of the day all these places source from a few suppliers/manufacturers. Once you find a good russian, it should be easy to get the name of the supplier. I'm not too sure about your list, but will give it a try. #4 will be as bad as all the ones around Joburg. There is no Platteland Russian Factory.
