Where to go from here ???

Is it worth 1899 compared to other companies offers

That's completely unshaped, uncapped, no limits, for 24/7 downloading whatever you want, whenever you want.

It's what Afrihost tried to do with their business accounts, but without the problems.

Or just stick.with AF.

They will fix their shiat soon

I doubt they will their pricing. they are most definitely selling their bandwidth below cost. That's why double data is ending soon. problems won't end until they up pricing enough to be able to afford upgrades.

Ahhh.... But.....ahhh.... I dont know that price just seem so.... Not competitive

So it boils down to I have to dust off that PVR of mine and downgrade my line and get a normal capped account for everyday work.

No, why you say that?

I just linked you to a couple awesome packages.

Same price as Web Africa Business Uncapped Pro:

Told you AH are selling below cost. That's why they always have bandwidth issues.

That is what I am getting, but just didn't realize those where going rates.

AF blinded us

I've known about the underselling for a while and that's why they've had so many issues getting their bandwidth allocation software working properly (and the need for Afrihost Plus+). Moving to MTN definitely changed things up but for the past year they have been having quite a few issues with IPC. Web Africa Capped and Telkom Uncapped/Capped with Afterhours will be my options on the table when I move ISPs in January. Not going to do the switch in December though, every ISP is going to be having issues for the next week and a bit as Telkom finish their backhaul upgrades.

I used to be with afrihost and they were good when it was good. Think they still a good company but that they have too many subscribers for the amount of capacity they have. Im sure when they get more capacity that things will improve as well as the afrihostplus thing think that will make people not use as much. Anyways I am now with webafrica using there capped account and i can actually stream properly with no buffering. I dont mind scheduling torrents to use at night have not tried it during the day as yet. It is a bit more pricey but all i want is something that works properly and dont want to be shaped as such on a capped account for streaming and i have had a shaped experience with them and not with webafrica as yet.

Actually in december is when all the ISPs give away extra data as network usage drops. Business and people go into holiday mode.

Web Africa now offers unlimited night time data on all capped packages.

Hi,

I am with Afrihost and am looking for a new provider, as they don't seem to be able to sort out their line issues.

I am currently on the 10 Mb uncapped, and am looking for a comparable offer from someone else.

I need it mainly to stream via XBMC on my Fire TV and the occasional P2P, which I can have running after hours.

In average I have a usage of 300GB / month.

Can anyone recommend a ISP they made experiences with?

Thanks
Hey Smokey, who did you land up going with? we are also 10mg line looking for a new ISP. Currently with Telkom and its been horrendous..same area as you...seems almost better to just stay with the devil we know.

Was thinking about Openweb but after I called them this morning for info, was put through to a voicemail box and then called back to be told there is no one available to take my call- doesn't instill confidence and now reading some of the comments on here- will give them a skip.

That's my problem, I need to be able to watch TV anytime of the day. I am not going to watch TV at 2am in the morning just to try and save on my gigs. I am actually stating to regret moving from DSTV to Netflix.
