I have been using www.basicsupplements.co.za a few years back for the best value for money but I see he is no longer supplying people with product just taking their money. I have also used www.supplementfactory.co.za but as of last Friday they are under liquidation. So my question is where else can I buy supplements that don't cost an arm and a leg and that one doesn't pay extra for the brand?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Francois

I can recommend Chrome Supplements and Accessories (Chrome SA). There are many other agencies, resellers and suppliers with competitive pricing.

Importing via MyProtein.

Best flavours and good prices when the Rand/Pound is not as horrible as the last week or two.

Which MyProtein do you import from? UK?
Yes. They launched a .co.za domain last year. But it is still shipped from the UK.

I documented my latest purchase in the bodybuilding thread. 20kg of Whey for less than R3k all inclusive.

It will last me until at least end of 2017 as it not my main source of protein. I just supplement when I fail to hit my macros with whole foods.

Thanks for this. Will definitely buy from them for next year. Pricing is really good. A lot of the fitness youtubers talk about the quality and value of myprotein.

Hi. Thank you for this. Absolutely fantastic prices thank you. ( Specialy the dairy free stuff)

How long does shipping take?

That all depends on the backlog at customs. There was a bit of a slow-strike going on there a while ago.

But MyProtein ships the same day. And it is usually in SA within 2 days.

Then you are in the hands of JHB Mail Centre.

My last order took just under 2 weeks to be delivered to my door. Previous one was even quicker.

Just bought off the 'local' website myprotein.co.za. Ended up with an 81% increase in product cost (shipping and customs - customs was 50% of product cost). Misleading company who look local but aren't and don't make any obvious attempt to let you know it - and then use the South African Post Office for delivery... a chance it will never arrive.

Can't remember ever saying 2 days delivery. 2 weeks, yes. But 2 days from UK is a miracle.

All my stuff arrived and even with customs and delivery it still worked out way cheaper than any local brand. I'm stocked up for the rest 12 months or so, so probably won't buy any time soon again.

The sweetener is terrible, it over powers the flavor. It takes a lot getting used to especially for someone like me who is sensitive to artificial sweeteners.
It doesn't dissolve as easy as something like Nutritech, it's like oil and water. You have to shave your donner off to get it to dissolve. This means it's difficult for smoothies and it doesn't even mix in oats. Its probably due to to form their whey takes - it's not as fine seems airy.

I don't understand how it's rated the best in Europe when it's tastes so terrible and the quality of the product is awful. I've tried four flavours btw.

I buy unflavoured. No sweeteners added.

I add whatever flavour i want, so it works out perfectly.

You can use nesquick or an unsweetened flavourant if you want.
