Looking to buy a 8600GTS which one would you buy?

Rather buy a 8800GT.

Brands dont matter really, take the cheaper one.

I wouldn't buy one:p
I would rather buy one of these.

Reviews:

Anandtech
"We don't need to show you too many numbers for you to understand the magnitude of this massacre. The Radeon HD 3850 is so much faster than the 8600 GTS at a very competitive price."

"Believe it or not, but a pair of these $179 Radeon HD 3850s actually gives you the same performance as a single GeForce 8800 GTX."
HardOCP
"The Radeon HD 3850 is really the star of the show at its price point of $179. The fact that it contains the full 320 streaming processors as the Radeon HD 3870, with simply lower clock speeds means it is one lean mean fully featured machine. We consistently saw it smacking around the 8600 GTS factory overclocked video card. The gameplay advantages weren’t small; they were night and day noticeable in many instances."

Whats your budget Amida?

dude do not buy the 8600 series

buy that 3850 card zen suggested i bought one and it rocked big time

rather take the money your going to spend on the 8600 and give it to me :) so i can another 3850 and go crossfire

Wht does it retail for?

My Budget is about R1500

If you can i would try and save up for the extra R250. The 8600 is unfortunately a dead average(and prob below average) card. The little bit extra would probably make you a happy camper ;)

LOL. Follow the link where it says THESE in my original post:p

Do NOT buy the GTS. You will hate yourself.

And besides better coolers and maybe different ram etc., brands are almost always reference design, so saying you like one company over the other basically ONLY refers to their warranty, and their sticker.

Also for R1999, they've now got the Gecube 512mb OC. Tasty.

Some supplier must have the 3850, take2.co.za have the same cards for a bit more than prophecy. They also have the HD3870 , but it's overpriced there.

isn't xfx the company that sells theirs already overclocked a bit? if they are i would go with them. Provided of course the price difference is not vast.
