For the OP you can do half a tablet daily if alternate days are too troublesome.

Remember once you achieve control of the allergies never stop the ICS.

Surfactant = soap basically. If you suffering from allergies you dont want to add soap up your nose. You flushing out and moisturising the passages not cleaning it. Anyways almost all the ENTs I know tell their patients not to use it. Sometimes I get orders from them to discard it before dispensing it

Though if its working with you continue as you are doing.

What cortisone is schedule 5 ? to my knowledge they either 3 or 4 ... at least as I remember off hand lol

Oral cortisones. Locally applied cortisones are safe when used properly as their dosage is very low.

It's the only thing that help for those really, really bad attacks when your eyes and nose are streaming.

P.S. Don't think it's available in ZA.
 
I was on Telfast (fexofenadine)for 10 years and then suddenly it stopped working. I switched to loratadine-based ones and they carried on working and then day my allergies went away and never came back.

I don't think you can get them here so I get them in bulk whenever I'm in the US or family comes for a visit.

If its working for you stay with it. I wouldn't waste time with 120mg myself I go straight to 180mg.

I used to offer the 120mg when I was less experienced and following those dosing guidelines but alot of patients complained it wasn't working for them now to convince a patient to increase the dose of the same medicine that's not working is very difficult. So I learnt from the doctors who often prescribe 180mg of the bat.

Use betasleep. Its diphenhydramine 50mg if you really want to use diphenhydramine

I would rather try to get to the cause and make a lifestyle change if possible. Once you get to cortisone as a solution it is just downhill from there.
