I'm aware of the risks that go along with buying a second hand sports car. But this is in my budget and anything else in this price range Im not really interested in.
I've heard that BMW will extend up to 7 years total motor plan, so I should be able extend till 2014.
 
Extension is pricey but obviously worth it on a car like that.

Question is how much Vaseline have you stock piled?

Dude I simply cannot agree with the choice, yeah sure an awesome car but really not sensible IMO
 
Very different cars...the 335i would be tough--suggest you read up on the common issues before you jump...
 
Watch out for BMW just about to exit it's maintenance plan....

2nd hand Audi all the way, barring VW, their maintenance low maintenance cost would be a great surprise for many another car owners...... on top of it being able to add maintenance at a reasonable cost. Also no 50% payment (which is more than Audi's service cost without a plan) of Merc....

PLUS having a great car.... and for those people whom wants 4 door only - that is your prerogative... I have a 7 seater on the one hand, and on the other hand are seriously considering a 2 door - would have bought one already, was it not that we are doing a fair bit of off-road....
 
I'd stay far away from the BMW. Unless you have lots of cash, of course.

The direct injection technology is still new ( relatively ). There is a class action lawsuit in the US being taken by some BMW owners against BMW on this.

IT's because of the HPFP (high pressure fuel pump). I know about this problem but it's very rarein SA. Most of the incidents occur in the USA and are caused because of the high ethanol content of their fuel. Here are some articles that I read about it:
