Hi,

Looks like Lakeside will finally have a choice of fibre providers. We have Octotel (currently active) and Frogfoot (active end August). Which provider would be better? Frogfoot offer far better products, but worried that cheap might not always be a better option. Frogfoot offer 200/200 at the same price as Octotel does for 100/25.

I am an active gamer with a teenage son, and I do a lot of beta testing of software, so we do download quite a bit. I cant have slow downs during peak evening hours.

Thanks

I would recommend Frogfoot with Vox as an isp combination as they can't point fingers at each othee because they are one. Care to pm your details for a quote?

Hi I'm a gamer too, but I'm with Vumatel. I opted for 100/10mbs due to downloading ps4 games. The upload part is just when one requires to upload videos on Youtube or other streaming sites, hence I didn't bother to go higher than the minimum of 10mbs.

is frogfoot a very good reliable network? what is their latency to the USA or UK?

Frogfoot is just the FNO (Fibre Network Operator) who installs the piece of glass into your house you still have to choose your own isp on top of that to give you the internet access,, the likes of Vox, Cool Ideas, etc

Octotel for myself: easy, fast, install and performance worked perfectly with no hassle, had fibre within a few days of signing up with the ISP.

Frogfoot for family member: literally waited months despite it already being available in their area.

I'd pretty much avoid Octotel in most areas, they all have congestion issues (at lesat in CT) and pretty much everyone I know has had some issue with their switches having faults as well.

Frogfoot sometimes has slow, sometimes fast install, do remember that the install guys are contracted out for all providers and they work for all networks (at least my friend's company got contracted out to at least Frogfoot, Octotel and OpenServe last I asked).

FF has congestion issues in PE, think they are mostly resolved but you'd have to check the MyBB thread on it.

Is anyone using frogfoot in Lakeside, and which service provider are you using. How are the speeds etc?

I am in Lakeside and I have both an Octotel line and a Frogfoot line. Both have been superb, octotels support is league's ahead due to their area rep.
