Which GPU to buy

That's exactly what I did, bought my GPU and a month later my cellphone contract was due for an upgrade, sold the old handset and bought my SSD and simply cloned my OS drive and 30 minutes later I was back in business.

Sorry it was supposed to be WootWare but damn autocorrect thought it better

At the time I ordered the card WootWare had it on preorder for R4899 plus shipping came in a shade under 5K.

I took the deal because you recommended the 390 and literally 3 days after ordering the 390 it's price shot up to R5299. Glad I did take and grateful that you pointed me in the right direction.

Lol, I actually started googling for Woodward gpu prices :D

Yeah, prices for most components shot up a lot in the last couple of months.
 
No one mentioned black friday to him

Mielies44, wait till next friday for wootware's black friday,they have massive specials on gpu's it will be very limited like 5 or 10 on specific cards,but u will say yourself a good amount of money.
 
if you are getting a 4k monitor get the 390x

if you are staying with 1080p get the 970

simple really


I don't know why the 960 is being mentioned here..

Whitch brand did you get? Is the power color any good?
 
I have the PowerColor, no complaints so far. I've been playing everything from, Far Cry 4, The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and Blops 3 all in ultra and in 1080p, Blops 3 I play in 1440p and get an average fps of 70 ad it's the only game that actually uses more than 3gb of vram.

Good value for money card this and who wouldn't want 8GB of GDDR5 memory!??

This thread makes me want to upgrade my R9 270. Not that I play games anymore but you know.

What size psu do you use. I see the recommended size is a 750, but i have heard people saying thats overkill. I have a 600 watt at the moment
