Which GPU to buy

What size psu do you use. I see the recommended size is a 750, but i have heard people saying thats overkill. I have a 600 watt at the moment
I have the PCS+ 390 and it's runs fine with an Antec 750W gamers PSU.
My CPU is a bit of a power hungry bugger and uses up 220W. If your running an i5 you could probably get away with a 600W PSU.

But it's always a good idea to buy a slightly bigger PSU than what you require. Makes sense to just pay a little extra and get some overclocking headroom.

The requirements are overspec'd. A decent 650W will be more than enough.

Post your system specs and we can look at some TDP figures. If you have a decent 600W PSU you could probably get away with it.

+1
Those recommended specs were probably based on a system running a FX-9590

People tend to buy way too big a PSU for their requirements. I'm running a 980GTX on 650W no problem.

Hey howzit guys, apologies on only posting now, workload tends to be overloaded due to year end.

I have some good news. I had the cash i saved up plus my performance review went well and managed to get the SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 390, Nitro Edition with a 256 SSD :D:D. Will be testing it out tomorrow :D cant wait :D:whistle:

The SSD alone is going to make you jump for join. Nothing beats a PC starting up in a total of about 10 seconds vs about a minute :D

Yip, I am still amazed at the load time even now about 8 months later.
When I boot the laaitie's PC I'm actually annoyed at how long it takes to boot up :o

Don't mean to hijack but I've wanted an SSD for some time now. I just don't want to be hassled with a reinstall as I've got too many programs that I need special permissions for etc when I installed them. Is there an easy foolproof way of cloning my HHD onto an SSD, a way that even I couldn't stuff up? :)

Yeh, I used Easus Partition Magic and cloned the drive.

Thanks for quick response! Was it a simple click and go job?Everything work 100% after? I've cloned drives in the past but that was honestly YEARS ago!

Yeh, it takes a while to do the clone but it was very simple and worked 100% after the clone.

If you buy a Samsung SSD they also have their own clone software, which I used and it was just click and wait.
