Which isp on Vumatel?

With your setup , I'd suggest disabling the D50's ADSL dialup, and connecting the WAN port to the CPE. You wouldn't need to use the supplied WR840N.
 
I think I will go this route I have no need for another router.

So the router connects directly to the CPE? is there no device between that?
 
Speed tests from Cybersmart 20/20.. don't always get the max. Granted Seacom is down so who knows how this will change.

Do you homework and get other people's experiences. For me, my next ISP is either CrystalWeb or CoolIdeas.

I went with Web Africa, which seemed like a good idea at the time. Did not pay for installation-R1710, activation-R999 and got up to 2 months free. Then comes the small print, you need to stick with them for 12 months, which is not a biggie if they deliver what you pay for. Web Africa currently do not, my international speeds are horrendous and this has been dragging on for 2 weeks. They now want to charge me a penalty if I leave, management are considering my case.
 
If you enjoy pain, frustration and all those associated gems that go with it, I recommend Web Africa with all of my being. Getting 5% - 10% of what you pay for is normal, their upstream provider network is apparently purring.

Still have not responded to me why I get significantly better performance in the morning than the evening...
