Which laws or regulations should be scrapped?

Laws that should be scrapped entirely:
Any act that imposes group identity onto an individual. So Affirmative action and BEE are out.
Any previous and new laws pertaining to hate speech.

Laws that need changing:
The laws allowing national monopolies. All state owned enterprises are to be either sold off(in the case of SAA and the post office or broken up to provincial enterprises (like SANRAL and Eskom).
The police service needs to become provincial as opposed to national.
Rental laws need to change to value the property rights of landlords.
Minimum wage laws need to become provincial as opposed to national.
Public school funding needs to change. It should change to a voucher model, where all parents have a choice where to send their kids. And it should also allow for a reasonable accreditation process to allow anyone to setup a school and be allowed to receive voucher funding.. Be it a local government, business, church, government dept, farm, whatever.
The firearm control act should have a lot taken out of it. The only thing needed to get a gun, should be a lack of a criminal record, a practical test (so you can shoot straight) and a theoretical test on the gun laws in the country.

All of this stuff would fix a lot of the problems
 
Human rights

Jail should be a punishment, not a pleasure. E.g. those animal child rapist/murders.

The one savage lived in a back room on the same premises as his victim.

He'll be locked up and given clothing, three meals a day, shelter from the rain, TV, warm blankets in winter, free medical care and the option to study :(

Plus a whole lot of free time to socialise with his new friends :(

Not sure which acts are applicable, so will just mention what it relates to:

Scrap these:
- Laws relating to E-Tolls.
- Laws relating to TV Licenses.
- Laws that makes discrimination in any form legal.
- Laws that allow medical aids to charge unreasonable penalties and impose unreasonable waiting periods.

Laws that needs a serious revise (which includes potentially scraping them):
- Hate speech laws (with the exception of incitement to violence).
- Laws allowing people to squat (not so much squatters in the sense of squatter camps, but renters not paying rent, etc).
- Laws allowing criminals to first be able to kill you half way before you are allowed to retaliate.
- Laws that prevents reasonable corporal punishment.

Hmmm will edit if I think of more. Some of the ones mentioned by other posters are good.
 
firstly many of our laws are fine, but the classification of somethings to fall under laws are incorrect.
the SABC for instance is classified as a state entity, it should instead be classified a rubbish heap.
a serious one though is Alcohol and Weed.
weed is a schedule 7, Alcohol is a schedule 0.
both should be a schedule 4.
 
Easy ones:

Remove limits on alcohol sales on Sunday, and time limits in other days this is stupidly annoying.

Make a B code driving licence the prerequisite for a C1 code, and C1 a prerequisite for a C licence. Do the same thing with the Corresponding E codes. This way people need to be able to drive a car before being allowed behind the wheel of a superlink truck.
 
yes both are intoxicating nothing will change if a person will be drug tested it will give the same results that he or she is under the influence of narcotic influence
