Which new model printers can be refilled ?I have a Lexmark x2650 and so far i found no method to refill it.

alot of lexmarks cartridges contain a chip to ''read'' when it's empty. These cartridges cannot be refilled at home unless u refill before it's empty. They can only be remanufactured if that company has managed to get a way of reproducing the chip.
What cartridges does your printer use?
To my understanding HP cartridges are easier to refill/remanufacture.
I dont suggest home refilling unless you are very brave. Eg. Verimark does not gaurantees on their refill kit. If you dont ''seal'' the cartridge correctly you stand a chance of having ink ''sprayed'' in your printer. Perhaps buy remanufactured cartridges & watch out for people that sell just refills.

hmm, i think those are still very new. The last i heard the reman supplier i use is still working on the chip. I can speak to them on monday & let you know if you want.

Personally i dont recommend lexmark ink printers for people who print a lot due to cost of original replacements. Sometimes buying original cartridges costs more than the printer with cartridges. So not very cost effective then.

well the Black Cauldron 300, can be fulled with frog, newt and bat blood, throw in some worm wood and wolfsbane for deeper colour.... mainly depends on which witch is mixing it...

Personally i stick with the good ole' Soapstone and Chisel. Much more user friendly over them new fangled devices.

my Parchment and Raven Feather Quill > Your Soapstone and Chisel

I get cartridges for my Canon ip4300 printer from Impression management, Vasco Blvd, Goodwood.
Last time I bought the prices were: without chip, R11.00, with chip R38.00 (inclusive), black and colours. I am sure they refill other cartridges too. I had one total failure with a chipless cartridge, but all cartridges with chips worked fine so far.

markings, if i remember correctly your printer uses the cli8 cartridge, these chips are visible on the outside of the cartridge. If you buy a chipless cartridge you should remove the original old chip with a blade & move it over to the new cartridge so it can work. This is danger to both you & the chip during removal.
Lexmark is a lil more clever & have placed their chips on the inside & its only the size of a pin head. So the OP can try the store you mentioned, but they can only have generic/reman cartridges once their supplier can reproduce the chip.

Ingredients:
2 cups of apple cider
2 cups ice cream( vanilla)
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

How to make it:
Process cider, ice cream, honey, cinnamon and nutmeg in a food processor or a blender until smooth.
Pour into glasses and sprinkle with nutmeg on top and serve immediately.

On a serious note:

Before buying a printer go to your PC consumables supplier and ask for their advice on replacement cartridges, re-inking, refilling, re-manufactured cartridges, etc.

Forget about saving a few rands on the initial cost of the printer, the most important cost is the replacement cartridges, i.e. total cost per page.

I've never had a problem filling HP printer cartridges which take the current cartridges. In most cases you simply peel back a label and inject the ink. Occasionally doing this means your ink-counter gets confused, but most of us could live with that -- I'm anal enough that I actually keep a quick running total of pages printed, so I know roughly when the cartridges must be nearing empty.

Only problem HP is notorious for is software bloat, installing a huge megalith of unwanted software on your machine just so you can get the drivers you need -- last HP I bought dumped 150 MB on my machine before I could print a single page!

Our Co has a consumables Div & the horror stories that abound from there on refills, injecting, compatibles, etc would rival Telkom complaints.
Most famous one is a lady who bought some kind of injection kit, treated her cartridges, put the printer on her back seat (of her Merc) & drove home.
When she reached home, she found the ink had run onto her back seats of the Merc & it cost her a few grand to have it sorted out. If ever a case of pennywise..........

Any place i can get the ink cheaply?I'm near Roodepoort.

I've just spoken to suppliers regarding your 14/15 cartridges. The remanufacturing supplier is still finding a way to reproduce that chip I mentioned. Til then you will have to settle for original cartridges / refill yourself before it's empty / buy another printer.

Depending which side of Roodepoort you are I might not be to far. I am on the border of Randburg/Roodepoort.

Always a very bad idea & was mentioned before. With ink spills of this nature your warrantee is also voided even if the printer is only a week old.

The reman supplier I get stock from offers a 1 year warrantee on their products. Some other brands out there might claim reman. but is infact only refilled, which is not a good idea.
