Seriously I am talking about buying one now.... The PS3 has no games now... It would be idiotic to buy one now.

They can't even stabilise the system, there have been 3 patches already in the space of 3 months trying to fix bugs...

If you want a PS3 wait until after the SA/UK launch... Maybe about 3 months and then there will be games and the OS will be stable.

No point in losing R7000 just to be on the bleeding edge all by yourself.

been following this console wars thing for a while and I must say the XBOX is my favourite atm though I don't own any of the three consoles. Was very interested in the Wii but the XBOX has gotten me. The PS3 incorporates way too much proprietary stuff on it which the most obvious one is Blu-Ray. Forcing a format like that is not sensible.

At least with XBOX those next gen disc formats come from external devices. If Blu-Ray wins, MS can just replace it.

Looks like JK8 is just a fan boy and you can never change his mind. From what I've heard, developing games for PS3 is a pain and not so difficult with XBOX. Has the problems with not able to multitask on PS3 fixed yet? Strange interface i think. You have multiple cores but it doesn't allow ppl to listen to music and download updates on the PS3...very poor. Sony might've got ahead of themselves.

As for games, more developers are supporting XBOX. Virtua Tennis was a good example. It will be coming to the XBOX on 1080p resolution and nothing as mentioned about the XBOX. Some games exclusive (can't remember which ones) to the PS3 are also shifting to multiple console support. That says alot to PS3 support.

I will get an XBOX in the next month or so.

Not one stick with Pc dude Pc owns ps3 and xbox 360.I know am prob going 2 get a lot comments on this remark.
But think of it PS3 games and xbox games are made and tested on pc so how can xbox or ps3 be better???

Just to add my 2 cents.

I will never buy a PS3, I have never once been interested in it since the word go. (Although the game Flow caught my interest, very pretty). And that price is just shocking!! For the price of a PS3 you can go and buy a 360 and a Wii.

So my choice is XBox 360 and Nintendo Wii, which I now have them both anyhow. So my choice is already made. YAY!!

PE-Killer, I see you sprouting this misnomer quite often, but it's not true. The games may be "made" on PC's but they do not "Run" on PC's. Developers use PC's to develop content (3-D models etc) and write the code for the application, and yes they may have emulators to test and debug on a PC, but there's no way a PC can execute a modern console binary and run at a decent framerate. (I'm not talking about cross platform games that have PC executables, but the console versions)

In order to actually run the games they use "dev" units or debug units, some of the most memorable ones being the "black 360" and the "Gamecube Wii".

Your brand snobbery and fanboi-ism is epitomized in this post. You're making a statement that says one brand (Sony, BMW) is better than another brand (M$, Nintendo, Toyota) without actually evaluating the merits of each product.

Personally, I don't see how, for the same money, a PS3 is better than a 360 AND a Wii.

Ya well noones really driven the Bm(PS3) to really comment on it really.
*Brand use again* the Xbox, Its like a Nokia, the specs speak wonders but in real life its crap!!

Yeah and the 1.4 million sold have not been tested by the game reviewers as yet.

It has not been released here but it has in the states and Japan and they are sitting and collecting dust because no one wants one.

Buying a PS3 now is stupid, it has 1 decent game and is twice the price and cannot currently compete on gfx with the 360.

Maybe if the developers ever find how to get it to pump out the gfx Sony is convinced it can it will be worthwhile getting one but until that time (2 years min) get an Xbox...

Sony is not a envied brand currently unless you like exploding batteries and delayed launches :D...

JK8 can you find me one review where the PS3 is rated as much better than the Xbox 360 remembering that it costs twice the price?

If not then maybe your fanboyism should stop for now until someone else on the planet agrees :sick:
 
LOL you seriously calling the 360 a camry and a PS3 a BM? Get a better analogy. More like 360=Audi and PS3=Prius(overpriced and unavailable).

Have they taught you the term "hypocrite" in play school yet?

You haven't played the PS3 either, and by the sounds of it you definitely haven't spent any Quality time with a 360 either, on the other hand I'll take the opinion of guys who've played both, lets see, oh how about EVERY major online comparison or review published that has put the 360 ahead, and well how about we ask the guys developing for both who, *gasp*, also prefer the 360.

I see your point, ill make my own review this weekend on the PS3, against already playing N4Speed Carbon on the Xbox.

Iv never been a fan of reviews, so hence my conclusion on the PS3 vs Xbox.
U read Barry Ronges movie reviews?
 
so... once again... we should buy a console with an inferior line up of games because it might be the better console a year or two from now?

my logic fails me unfortunately. way above my head...

Lol, 2 of my brother's friends just brought in PS3's from Hong Kong. They're now sitting with consoles for which they have to order in games, and are apparently region locked for DVD's. Poor dudes...
