Shots

Edit : See u have the S.
Hows the battery life?

I get about 2.5 days on it.
About 4 hours if I am playing games like gta3

Oh did I mention Play station certified?

So I got the Xperia T yesterday. Couldn't wait :)

Huge improvement over my Desire HD. :D

Even though Sense is overall better it's a small concession.

Only problem I now have is that HTC had an app to let me connect to my old phone via bluetooth and copy my contacts and SMSes over, but can't find something similar from Sony.

Anyone have any advice for me?

Its a really simple answer:

Want a dam good camera on your phone, go Nokia.
Want loads of apps and games, go Sony.

That said I would not pick one of your options for me personally. I would rather go for an S3 or something that you know would get loads of love from XDA <--- it does prolong the life of the device.

Edit: oops saw now you went Sony, as for your question pick one or some:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup <-- personal recommendation Esp if you have paid version
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.CallLogBackupRestore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rerware.android.MyBackupRoot <-- Paid version is targeted for what you need.

Contacts should auto update on new phone once you log in with the same Google account that you used for the old phone.

Try going to contacts, go to settings and see if there is an export or a share option. Then share it via bluetooth.

Import your contacts into your gmail account.
Sync your phone.

Done :)

Sweet, Post some camera samples sometime, oh & battery life.

reasons why not Lumia: less apps
why sony: better camera, better design (from my own opinion) HDMI port .etc....

For Contacts:
Like AstroTurf said, sync your contacts to your google account on your HTC. Once that's done, on your Sony (I'm assuming you using the same google account as before) go to the accounts and sync option and then sync google contacts.

For SMS:
Download either:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5yaXRlc2hzYWh1LlNNU0JhY2t1cFJlc3RvcmUiXQ..

or:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEwOSwiY29tLnplZ29nZ2xlcy5zbXNzeW5jIl0.

on both phones - SMS Backup + allows you to sync to an IMAP account so it should be the easier of the two options.

No one has been convinced by any camera sensor from a phone that doesn't come from Nokia or Apple (Sony sensor). I have a sneaky suspicion that apple have some insane camera software to make their pictures look so good. But if you're going for the sensors megapixel count im sorry to say but that's quite silly. No tech reviewer has ever lauded a camera phone which wasnt Apple or Nokia. I would go for the Nokia but I have my reservations for Windows Phone. I have a Samsung Focus Flash and its horrible. not sure if its the phones hardware or software

Oh please. Each one of those items you listed got only a tiny bit better.
Better GPU?

Better Camera? We all know 1mp is not going to make the slightest difference.
The only thing you listed which would actually be a game changer for me is the Micro SD slot.

And, i will give you my left testicle if it gets Jelly bean within 6 months. ;)

Ok, ill admit I went a bit overboard with the list there...but I don't understand how people can say this is a minor update? Lets look at the increment from S2 to S3...

New Design
Faster CPU
Same RAM
Bigger screen
Same camera

Sounding familiar? I don't count all the gimmicks that will be used once or twice eg. Smart stay, S-voice

Im confident we'll see JB by Jan. Sony has always kept to their word, unlike others (yes I'm looking in your direction HTC)

Sony admitted that their phones were no real competition for Samsung's phones in 2012 and pledged to change this in 2013.

So, what Sony basically said was : 'Yup, we know our phones suck really bad'.

Well a work colleague just got an S3 and I can I wouldn't trade my Xperia T for it. Not at all.

Nope :-/. Probably won't be for a long time.

Depends what he is asking about if its because of the games, yes you can get them in SA : https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Sony+Computer+Entertainment+Europe+Limited

That said, You have better luck converting your PSX files for use with the Playstation application: I used this How-To for my Xperia Play well for the 3 games I had. Find the native Android games way better in both performance and FX.

You might wanna keep an eye out for a new Emulator that also just hit the market: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.ppsspp.ppsspp

If you where referring to the Music/Movies and other services, same rules apply as for Google Play, iTunes store and so on... its a no go unless you hack it.

Better start preparing that left testicle for delivery :p:
Sony already announced which phones will be updated to Jelly Bean - the Xperia T, TX, V, S, acro S, ion, P, go and J. All of these were released within 2012. There will be no Jelly Bean treatment for the 2011 phones.

We also already know that the Xperia T, TX and V will get the update in mid-Q1 2013, which is February around the time the MWC kicks off.

Yeah I saw this coming. HTC and Samsung are already planning a 4.2 release. Probably between 2013 Q1 and Q2.

This will always leave Sony an update behind, save for Odin and Yuga. IMO, they should have skipped this 4.1 update, and worked on 4.2 to catch up to the competition.
