Seems my current routers phone jack is bonked so I'll have to get a new one.

Which one would you get and why?
Dlink
or
Netgear?

I'm getting 384k ADSL and need my internet access to be available wireless too.

Had a 2640U which had an unfortunate difference in opinion with a lightning bolt. Since replaced with a 2650U with which I'm quite happy. uPNP actually works, as does media streaming to the xbox. My requirements are pretty low. :p

I really won't recommend any Netgear routers/modems, unless you're on a 384-512kbps connection, don't want to use bridge mode and don't need a good wireless signal strength.
I know for a fact that many people on this forum have had issues with the DGN2200, but I can't say the same for the DGN1000 - but I suppose that it would be even worse.

Currently I would only suggest D-Link, TP-Link, MikroTik & Buffalo routers/modems.

As someone who recently bought a Netgear DGN2200, I would agree.

Never had a problem with Netgear :)
You can also have a look at SMC, mine's been going strong for over 2 years now.

I use a DGN2000 with a 4Mb line, never had any issues with it. Also i get nearly full strength on the wireless across my entire yard, not just in the house.

Thanks Grim. So it seems like the DGN2000 is OK, but not the DGN2200... So I'm still unsure about the DGN1000.
