Which screen should I choose?

Sorry, you are wrong. I have had many different displays to play on, and a cheap IPS display is just fine for gaming. On top of that, it doesn't look like arse when you tilt your head, and it has better colour reproduction out the box.

This.

Unless you're going to international competitions to play on stage for millions of dollars, just stick to IPS. It's not the screen holding you back from international gaming fame and fortune.

Guys, I'm not disputing that. IPS monitors are far superior, and although I don't really play many games, all I've heard is that IPS monitors are generally experiences more ghosting and input lag than their VA counterparts, more specifically with the budget range of IPS panels. If you're going to buy an IPS panel, get a decent one, or don't bother, and if you're a heavy/competitive gamer, stay with VA unless you can afford a high-end gaming IPS monitor.

I'd rather poke my eyes out.

With spoons.

Drenched in Tabasco sauce.

You're right, that's not bad then. It's now a viable option.

Some very nice VA panels coming out these days.

yeah, i had a look at one in incredible connection, as i read they loose some colour when viewed from an angle, but on this screen it was only apparent when you viewed it right on the side placing your head against the bezel, which i would never do, all the view angles were great, and the colour was amazing.

So I made up my mind, and wanted to go with the Samsung, but when i checked Takealot site, the price went up by R300, making the entire purchase R600 more, and now out of my budget, I thought i would send them a mail asking them if they could give it to me for the R2999 it was originally posted at, they came back to me with a bland generic response that just sounds like a guy who wants to go home and is not in the mood to work on a Friday afternoon.

I have always got great support from them, and was not upset by that they could not give me the price I wanted, but this response really made me sad, have they become so corporate that they don't care anymore? I always received friendly thought through responses on the few occasions I contacted them.

Shame on you Takealot.

Rant over...

Thanks for all the input you guys gave me, i'm on a new search for a monitor, and have more info now to make an informed decision.

Going to throw my Acer XG270HU in the bin ,TN panels need to be in the bin ! :P

Enjoy your monitor!
