R00i, I see the following in my blink sip trace logs:
Does sip.iburst.co.za need some additional DNS records?Code:2011-05-27 22:29:04.468000 [blink.exe 2192]: DNS lookup NAPTR sip.iburst.co.za failed: DNS response contains no answer 2011-05-27 22:29:04.656000 [blink.exe 2192]: DNS lookup SRV _sips._tcp.sip.iburst.co.za failed: DNS record does not exist 2011-05-27 22:29:04.828000 [blink.exe 2192]: DNS lookup SRV _sip._tcp.sip.iburst.co.za failed: DNS record does not exist 2011-05-27 22:29:05.015000 [blink.exe 2192]: DNS lookup SRV _sip._udp.sip.iburst.co.za failed: DNS record does not exist 2011-05-27 22:29:05.015000 [blink.exe 2192]: DNS lookup A sip.iburst.co.za succeeded, ttl=596: 196.2.126.52 2011-05-27 22:29:05.093000 [blink.exe 2192]: SENDING: Packet 1, +0:00:06.812000 197.106.36.196:1726 -(SIP over UDP)-> 196.2.126.52:5060
DNS SRV is a mechanism of having multiple IP address. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/DNS+SRV Even if it is not enabled it should still work.
We have tested it with our switch and CPEs in the lab and will shortly be implementing in production. Both the recommended CPE's for business http://www.patton.com/datasheet/VoIP_Product_Guide.pdf and consumer http://www.grandstream.com/user_manuals/HT502_User_Manual.pdf support it.
PS: I tested and it works fine. Setup a private SIP account with the display name being arbitrary but sip address as 27877******@sip.ibusrt.co.za (don't forget the password)
BTW: The problem with most free softphones is the lack of G.723 and G.729 codec support. That is why the ATA is better (and even supports fax!)
I use CSIPSimple with my iCall Starter

and a Grandstream ATA with iCall for the home phone.
