I dont want an iPad as it cannot do Java sites and have no USB or expandable memory slot. Quite frankly I dont want to be locked into Apples little golden circle of iTunes and paid for apps. The BlackBerry Play is getting very, very bad reviews.

Do I go for the Samsung Galaxy, Motorola Zoom or HTC Flyer?

Motorol Xoom - i've been researching it extensively and it looks the best of the bunch + its got Android 3.0 - Honeycomb which is designed for tablets. Do yourself a favour and check out some youtube reviews of the Xoom - you will be IMPRESSED to say the least.

I second the XoomXoom - if you can, get to a store that sells both (if and when SA gets it) and compare the size and weight - that's about the only thing you cant get from uTube...

I was surprised how small the Xoom really is - was expecting a HUGE tablet!

Thanks guys!! I need one that is 3G. A lot of manufacturers has recently launched new models without frigging new name aka HTC Flyer2010 and 2011 has the same name.

I would also like a USB and expandable memory. Om looking into the Zoom as we speak.

Im flying to the UK on Sunday and you can get it there for about R3200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

I've also read some articles on these and it seems the Xoom is awesome. A little expensive, but a great piece of kit.

Where on earth would you get it for R3k?

Pity about the 3G requirement else I would have said look at the Asus Eee Pad transformer as it is kicking the Xoom's butt in reviews.

But from your list go Xoom or if its the Samsung galaxy 10.1 then I would say go Samsung.

Lol I found it funny that people were thinking that iPad 2 would come with SD card memory expansion... :D like that's ever gonna happen.... its just not part of apple's game plan, and it would ruin their pretty pricing scheme, so they will hang on to the bitter end.

i got the galaxy tab 10.1 and i am very happy with it. Even got the streaming from my PC to the tab to work with no problem!

but since you specfically want expandable memory and USB, go for the xoom or the transformer.

Vegeta, I'm going to the USA and at Best Buy they cost Sale: $429.99 which is about R3000!!

The Zoom is frigging nice and expensive. I think the Galaxy is slowly being decided on. I want to use it for infrequent internet access and travel so paying R5600 for the zoom does not really make sense?

I agree with going with the Transformer :D However, it does not have 3G afaik.

Many people are holding out for the Lenovo Le-Pad.

I just cant jump on the tablet thing. Typing this on my Acer Aspire one with 9cell battery(which keeps me all day) Why would I prefer a tablet over this thing? Its a full on PC with keyboard running windows 7 and its the size of a tablet

Dont forget that gigabyte is releasing a computer in tablet form, has usb and vga ports, which is great until you need to install an AV, anti spyware, etc, etc, etc.
