Which Tyre brand to get?

Hi,

I need to replace my 2 front tyres on my 2009 Honda Jazz 1.5 EX. What tyre brand would you recommend?

I've heard some brands attract a higher price as they are imported, yet are inferior quality to local tires. Can anyone confirm this?

Well I always enjoyed yokohoma, trying continental sport contact 3 now and I've had sooo many problems, and they have to be balanced every 6weeks, I was told they made local in port Elizabeth. :(

Were you happy with the old tyres? Why not just put the same brand back on? Problem solved.
 
Hey guys i also need tyres is Hankooks really good they guy at tiger wheel and tyre said u can get up to 55000kms on those tyres

Oh forgot to mention 2 points on that:
1) I bought the car with around 20 000km on it. For some reason, the tires werent in the best condition when I got the car, so not sure if I got the best performance out of them to begin with. Also,I've never tried any other tires, so not sure if there could be better than what I had previously. Not sure the factory puts the best tires on to begin with?
2) the guy at Supaquick advised me that the current tires (Dunlop) are imported, and therefore cost more, even though they are not necessarily better than the local brands
 
Continental Sport Contact 2.

Came with my new Polo, has done 47000 kms and still looks brand new.
 
Stay away from Dunlop and any FongKong-sounding brands. Compare prices and then exclude the very cheap and very expensive. Check reviews on the web in order to narrow down your search.

Personally I'm partial to Bridgestone and Michelin, but they can be pricey.

For performance, yes. For longevity, no.
 
I recall reading on another forum that the size of tyre fitted to the Jazz is an odd one and is a lot more expensive than run of the mill size.
Furthermore, without much drama, one can fit a more common size and save a lot of money.
I would suggest that you check this out with a reputable tyre supplier.
 
I had Continental SportContact 2 for up to 50 000km, I have 16inches however cost was too great so I changed to Falken which was way cheaper and after 10 000km no problems and they actualy sound like they have less road noise.
