Which Tyre brand to get?

Any warranty on 18s? I doubt any set of tyres will last >20k km on my car... :D

We get 45k on a set of tyres with the Merc, and then it's a rain set, aka slightly harder compound.... softer tyres don't even last 45k.

Haven't seen any advertising above 16" mentioning the warranty.

Personally have Primacy HP 205 55 16", much better than the original Bridgestones.

Normally tires that are fitted from the factory last very long, so long as you don't abuse them. My Golf 5 Gti came with Potenza and they lasted me until 70 000 Km's, so I am not sure if they changed the factory fitted tires on your car. Factory fitted tires are Grade 1 so even if you buy the same brand it wont be the same as factory fitted tyre, as they are sent Grade 1 tyre.

Oh that makes a lot of sense. The replacement tyres are exactly like the original ones but I've been wondering why does it seem like they are going to be changed sooner than the factory fitted ones.
 
I had 2 Hankook V12's put on the front of my car this morning. I already have 2 at the back but the 2 front Dunlops produce the most horrific road noise.

I can't believe the difference! So quiet. Love driving again. Hankooks really are in huge demand, manage to get 2 out of 6 left in SA.

What I was saying was, I had 2 Dunlops on the front of my car, seriously noisy so I replaced them with Hankooks and the road noise is gone. Great tyres.

Well apparently Tiger Wheel n Tyre are the only guys that stock the Hankooks in SA, when I phoned them on Thursday there were only 6 tyres left at the Rustenburg branch so I had to wait for them to get them in.

Apparently they are also not expecting stock any time soon. The guy told me they are selling like hot cakes based on price vs quality.
 
Michelins FTW. Slightly more expensive than Continental, MUCH quieter, better fuel consumption (seen this with Primacy HP, Energy Saver and Pilot Exalto that my Dad and myself have used), excellent wet road holding and overall more comfortable ride. These tyres last much longer than stock Continentals that most new cars come with now days too.
 
These Hancooks look decent. Anyone know if you can get them in 275/35/19 and price? I am currently using Michelines and they are pricey as hell and don't give me too much mileage. They are damned quiet though.
