I would upgrade to 8 except dumbass axxess and afrihost ip snafu wont let me

How is windows 8?

AWESOME!!! I spent half an hour to sort out the metro interface at work with all my stuff, I now have two screens with no icons, and when I click start everything is grouped perfectly (only the stuff I use) with no stupid sub menus etc.

Do yourself a favour, get it, get used to it and you'll love it!

I switched over to 3G just for that one screen when I got that error. After that screen I switched back and started the download.

Im sure a few of us here don't understand this statement...please explain!

Afrihost and Axxess are now on the MTN business backbone, but their IP address block doesn't register as being in SA. It doesn't register anything at all, just shows your location on the east coast of England, where one of MTN's landing zones are. That's why their users are being blocked from purchasing the upgrades.

Old Windoze

xp sp3
Ubuntu 11.04 dual-boot

On other laptop had 7 Ultimate 32, formatted and installed Mint12 earlier this year. Mint more stable and performed better.

Next laptop 2013: can't decide between 7, 8 or Linux yet.

start the download on a prepaid account. pause. switch accounts back to afrihost. resume. win8 downloaded.

on win2k, wasn't it pitched more as a business os? the upgrade to nt? not to say it couldn't run on a home computer.

Excellent, I'm going to do this today..

Work: Windows 7 + Linux
Home: Windows 8 (Might opt for Linux again seeing that Windows 8 dont like my old games)
Laptop: Linux

Can anybody confirm that corelDraw x5 works on Win 8?

I'm getting mixed reports about it online..

My main rig uses Windows 7 and unless Windows 9 has a start menu and a desktop, I am switching to linux, and using Wine for my limited gaming needs :(

Allso have a system with Dos 5, another win 95 Rev D(non-released OEM) and Windows 98se

win2k and linux

milomak: 2k was a business os and that is what I have used it for, even at my home office. Stable os.

I discovered yesterday that LibreOffice sucks at handling the x-files on Linux. Docx and xlsx lost formatting and became garbled. In windows, Libre works just fine. A very sad good bye to linux, but I cannot waste time to edit everything received from 3rd parties.

My next year's new machines will all be 8. I understand it has superior sync abality across devices. You be my guide.
