At least have the basic vr experience up to the point where you can enjoy it without the samsung/google 'cutout cardboard' bs. I see the oculus quest 2 is about 15k? Or you can go from 20k to 30k with the vive.

However has this come along since the first oculus/rift?
Is it at all feasible to get one now for gaming or wait yet another generation?

or do I just put that odd 15k into a new ps5/xbox sx? lol.

There's also a much cheaper second hand option:

The Quest 2 looks appealing. I've got the original Rift and the cables are a pain.

Wow ok I see the Quest 2 is over €1000 at Takealot, that's insane. I paid r6000 for mine. I had the original Rift CV1 but I found the Quest2 a huge upgrade in every way. The game streaming is flawless as long as you're close to a good 5ghz router with at least >500mb/s speeds.

It did help a lot to get a better head strap though. The default strap is terrible

Hello,

Want to get VR cellphone based glasses for a 10 year old. Any suggestions? And who actually stocks them? I saw many on Takealot but not sure how to select the best one…Will be for an Iphone 11. Budget R2000

Those are pretty much all pretty useless, especially since Cardboard disappeared.
