Which would you choose and why?

Just an update on this situation:

I did go for the Ford after all but not the ST as originally planned; got a 2009 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Ghia - the later model and low mileage made a whole lot more financial sense than a 2006 model with high mileage.

On the Hyundai, I can get a 4% discount off the list price, through one of the loyalty programmes I subscribe to; add to that my deposit of 10% and I can knock off as much as R18 000 off the finance. At the same interest rate and terms as the Fiesta, my repayment would be R2500.

My dilemma is this, the Hyundai would make absolute financial sense:o, but the Fiesta would be so much more exciting to drive :D. Would it make sense to spend more on the Fiesta just for the WOW factor, or just to be sane and go for the Hyundai?

2006 Ford Fiesta 2.0i ST Ford is more reliable in South-Africa.

They knocked R5 000 off the price because I told them that I couldn't afford it :D, and they put my finance through at prime + 2%. Also slapped a 60 000km full maintenance plan on there - all for the same of what I'm currently paying.

It looks like Bluetooth is/was available as an optional extra, which I don't think my car was fitted with as it was the dealership's demo model.
 
what is not understanable is the interest rate u being charged 15% that 4.5 above prime!!!

too much----you're been screwed by finance house. shop around. you will save thousands in interest rates. guaranteed.
 
sorry--just realised at later posting that u got prime + 2.. that is good.
 
how is prime plus 2 good? thats for a 1st time buyer usually and without a car allowance.

Actually not - in this economy that's an OK rate.

3.5 years ago I bought my first car and got prime -1% ... when I bought another a few months ago, they gave me prime +1%. In that time everything is has increased - credit status, income, assets etc

I thought it was high, so before I accepted I spoke to a few guys and they really are offering less. The guy in my office has bought 5 cars over the last few years - he got prime less x for each, except for the one earlier this year at prime + 0.5%

My stepfather just bought 2nd car at received prime - his highest ever as well.
 
I currently own an ST150, and there is no way I would trade it in for a Hyundai!! So, no contest on that one.

Fair enough, getting a Ghia for what you are paying at the moment, with a maintenance plan sounds like a great deal. Good job and enjoy the car! :D
