Whisk(e)y Lovers thread(II)

Let's give this a try

Colour: Light straw

Nose: First thing I got was alcohol (but after a bit of time in the glass it did open up a bit), don't really get any smoke but do get the sweeter honey notes.

Palate: The alcohol on the nose didn't come through on the palate, quite light, young but surprisingly smooth for the age. Unique taste that's quite spirit driven (almost like a whisky vodka) but not harsh.

Finish: Short/medium finish fades quite quickly

Overall: Think this will be good to keep as a mixer, don't know that I would drink this straight up. It's not bad but I don't think I would buy more. It is vastly different to a Bain's for example
At the price point (on special) and as their first whisky I think they have done a decent job.

Thanks for taking one for the team...

My first contribution to this thread.

Super excited for this. It also came in one of the nicest boxes I've ever seen whisky in

LOL

Distell has confirmed that the TSW Double Wood bottles were all handed over to their couriers Aramex on the 3rd of Nov. Amarex has been the delay as they have been "repacking" them. Naaiers. Apparently some were delivered today and the rest from tomorrow.

If anyone finds some local early Black Friday whisky deals please post it here. Just remember to first place your own order ;)

Thanks

I'm constantly looking for great deals, have some extra cash to burn. Will definitely be the first one Monday morning paging through what Takealot has to offer for next week's blue dot sale.

I think that is one sale to keep an eye on, I previously got some huge bargains from them, like the Smokehead High Voltage for R589 a month or two ago.

Apart from Takealot I will be checking everywhere and will post accordingly
