Bottleshop 15% off. today only.

We are giving you 15% off all whisky with this coupon code WORLDWHISKY2018, enjoy!

Their prices seem very inflated...even Whisky Brother is much cheaper at the moment.

E.g. Mackmyra Svensk Rök

R 1299 at Bottleshop
R R950 at Whisky Brother

That is just one example but there are many more and that is a big price difference.

GlenGrant 10 year old with 2 glasses on special for R319 at Checkers liquor. Fantastic single malt for the money IMO!

The reviews of the Amrut Fusion are quite good but no available locally. Have you seen some on the local market?

I haven't - TBH I never heard of it, until my Fiancee surprised me with a bottle (of Fusion) from Duty Free.
Also seen good reviews on it.

No, it is the 12 year Single Malt. Barrel No.68.

It is very smooth and have a sweetness that I enjoy.

Cool, I've got the 12 year No. 41 and the new one is on order to compliment my 15 year Three Ships.

Nice tasting notes
Some tongue tingle and a bit of burn (to the wallet)

Nice stuff cost money unfortunately. I went a bit nuts during World Whisky Day/Week:

2 x Laphroaig Select
2 x Arbeg 10 YO
1 x Green Spot
1 x West Cork Bourbon Cask
1 x Springbank 15 Year Old
1 x Longrow 18 YO
1 x Highland Park Dark Origins
1 x Arran 18 Year Old
1 x Glendronach Peated
1 x Arran Machrie Moor Cask Strength

I am officially financially ruined...but oh so happy.

I agree there. That's quite a nice haul. I've got myself 2x Mortlach 18 from Checkers and I'm going to get myself 4 of the 6 year old James Sedgwick when JHB gets stock. Got a bottle of Balvenie 12 year old on the weekend and I'm holding out hoping to find a bottle of the Glenfiddich Winter Storm. Amrut will have to wait.

BTW, the nose on that Glendronach Peated is amazing.

Where did u get that Arran last on the list?

My latest courtesy of Zurich duty free. Nice to find a GF that's non chill-filtered and bottled at cask strength.

Took the plunge on Ardbeg Grooves at Bottleshop. Ordered just before 11am. Arrived just after 2pm. Pretty impressive.

Now all we need is some tasting notes. My bottle is in the cart, but I'm wary of Ardbeg marketing BS...we discussed this on our Whisky Club group today as well...

Yeah. Kelpie wasn't that amazing. Certainly not the asking price. I really like the an oa though.

Just picked up 2 Grooves from WhiskyBrother. Had a sample in shop. Very very good.
