Thanks! I will have a look at those.

Also look at Ardbeg An Oa.

If you want to save some money and give him something unusual AND which sits firmly in the same taste profile then spend less than R500 on this from Bottega - I opened mine last Friday and it's very pleasant indeed. Here's the link to Bottega.

I would go with the Jura or Ardbeg as something he will like, but perhaps not something he might normally have around - the Jura in particular.

Yeah and that Jura range is getting rarer and rarer - they have replaced it with new expressions so your prophesy, Superstition, Diurarchs Own and the old 10y/o will cease to be found

Just some of my Spars tasty treats.

They get some nice stuff in, got my Kilkerran 12, Hazelburn 10, Longrow 10 and Longrow 18 there.

They also have the new painted label peat monster and compass box great king street artist's blend, and a pretty decent bourbon selection!

@morkhans cracked his open and this seems great for the price, I personally found it Talisker-esque but could just as easily be Jura/Highland Park...

Ordered some 12 year old Aberlour for myself. Tried some of my brother's, and I really liked it.

Also ordered some Wild Turkey Rye Whiskey and some orange bitters.

I visited a friend two weeks ago, and he made me an old fashioned with rye whiskey. I thought it was really good, so I'm going to try make old fashioneds myself.

Does anyone know of a liquor store around the Southern Suburbs that stocks a decent variety of whiskeys? Bloody Northern agents getting all the good loot ^
