To be honest, I bought a bottle from WaW and also one from Bottega. Then yesterday, I was on my way to Luben to give him his Three Ships Bourbon Cask which I had procured for him. Luben is quite close to Rivonia Liquors and they have a special on the Douglas Laing set with a plinth for R2,800. A mate in CPT wanted one so I said I would get it for him and ship it down. While there, I decided to procure a Peat Monster with the new label to add to my collection. As I was paying, I glanced up at their Ardbeg display behind the counter and happened to notice a bottle with some red on the label. Lo and behold, they had a couple of bottles of Wee Beastie. My others haven't arrived yet so I couldn't help myself and added a bottle to my purchase. I believe Luben will go pick up one today.
Wow lucky man!!

I guess I'll have to wait for my WaW and Bottega orders then...hopefully Botega is arriving today.

I ordered from Bottega at 07:00 yesterday and they delivered at 14:00.

I just got back from Boulevard cellars now, got my second bottle of Wee Beastie. Looks to have been the last bottle on the shelf

I've settled on getting an Ardbeg 10 for my friend, and will most likely order from Bottega as I want to get that Crabbie for myself.

To be honest, I'm a whisky noob. I've focussed on GIN the past couple of years, but browsing the online Whisky shops and watching Youtube videos I'm now quite excited to start with a collection.

I've always stuck to a Glenfiddich 12 and never really tried other whiskies. I did go to a whisky festival 10 years ago, but obviously I can't remember anything from back then.

So basically I want to buy a few whiskies to taste and compare and see what I like.

Any recommendations for lets say 5 different whiskies that I should try? In the +-R800 per bottle range.

I can order online, and live in Stellenbosch, so Northern suburbs liquor stores / Makro is also easy for me.

Would like to see the details on the Ardbeg shelf a little better. Also, spy an Octomore bottom right.

The only advantage of NOT living in CT.... :p

Hopefully when it "floods" retail, it'll be as easy to buy as the 10yo. That is the idea behind this product anyway...

I also have a bottle coming from WaW and Bottega each...and some other goodies as well, to soften the shipping blow.

My very special and tricky import via a UK mail forwarder, is also arriving in SA tomorrow according to DHL. That's the one I am looking forward to the most...

If you come up to Durbanville at all, I can give you some samples to try, that way you don't have to buy full bottles.

His rare Ardbeg's are pricier than I've seen elsewhere, incl WhiskyBrother.
If you are interested then you negotiate with him. I bought my Perpetuum from him, he lowered his price when I showed him a cheaper online price.

Looks awesome...

I was in Makro today and as stated before, their Whisky selection has gone for a total ball of schit.

I ended up buying wine only...but damn, what a wine indeed !!

Yeah it's quite sad though I was very surprised to see we got Macallan classic cut (which is still too expensive to even bother with).
