Bit the bullet and opened up my last stock of Laga 16. Watching last few episodes of Ron Swanson in Parks & Recreation, with it being a coldish day and it raining steadily now. Perfect

Hey Guys,
Im looking to get a gift for my manager and he is quite the Whisky/ey guy.
Any recommendation for a really good bottle between R800-R1200?
Hmmm. Can be difficult. You may have a peat lover, in which case Lagavulin 16 to or a Talisker Dark Storm. Or someone who appreciates a sweeter taste and then perhaps a Glemorangie Nectar D'or or just for the awesome looking bottle and a good whisky, a Dalmore 12yo.
In either case you can't go wrong with either the Lagavulin or Glemorangie expressions recommended above

Where did you find it? Ive tried the liquor city here by Cape SUV but they only had one bottle a while ago and never again.
I've found two hard to find bottles at Liqour City before.
1. 30yo Famous Grouse
2. The old bottling of a JW Green

But often enough bar that Glen Moray brand, most of their bottles can be found elsewhere for cheaper. But I still go their stores now and then on the hunt for a relatively rare find

Wow...I haven't revisited this one for a long time...but it is absolutely brilliant.

The 58.5% ABV doesn't even matter. Peaty, fruity...perfectly balanced.

Well done Arran...a distillery doing amazing stuff nowadays with their new Laga venture.

Import tax depends on the alcohol by volume...but it is very little.

Duty and 12A cost is about R70 per bottle.

Then you pay 15% VAT of course on the Whisky itself and a R200 DHL pre-clearance fee.

I buy from MoM all the time and it is a very easy and smooth process.
Great, thanks!!

I'm planning on investing in a bottle of Laga 16 at the end of the month - can't wait :D
