The new Springbank 12 CS hit the shelves about 2 weeks ago, usually less than 10 000 bottles in each annual release. Maybe start your Springbank experience with that.
I've tried looking around and all seems out of stock. Can only find the Springbank 12 Green at a wonderful R7999.

On my hunt, I noticed WAW has the 2018 Glengoyne 30 year old for not that ludicrous a price (all things considering). If I didn't already own one, I'd pick it up.

I haven't seen it online as yet, seen it at Boulevard Liquors in Gauteng. In CPT Liquor City Claremont did have, Morkhans arranged one for me before JHB received stock.

Welcome to the problem with being a Springbank fan, the special stuff is snapped up almost instantly (and we get low allocations).

Springbank 15 is still available (Bottega had stock last I checked), it's a more sherried style but I love it. I think it's better than some of the 18s.

Takealot have a Distell whisky promotion:

Bain's R249
Three Ships 5 R174
among others

Not strictly part of the promotion, but Bain's with wooden serving tray R279 (R350 at the distillery)

Bains is still R229 at checkers with a 1.5L water

Not bad...but very sweet. Too sweet for my taste with very little other distinctive flavors, apart from the virgin oak. Should've bought just the one bottle.

At least with a good bourbon or Tennessee Whiskey you get other flavors apart from just sweetness. Maybe this will work as a Highball or a Whisky Sour...

Just tried my Three Ships Virgin Oak this evening and not a fan, it is very sweet. Will give it a try another time and see but wouldn't buy more

Given I now have two of these, was interesting to see the gap in bottle numbers. This suggests that over 100 were brought into the country. Wish we still got allocations of this size.
Also in my view, remains one of the best labels and packaging ever.
