I have found that duty free is more expensive unless they have a special on a specific brand. Usually you get in two liter packs.

I also dont understand the excitement about locally produced whiskeys.

Anyone here tasted Nikka Japanese Whiskeys before? What was your opinion of it?

Had some over the festive season, like all whiskies I think it'll be down to personal taste, but I quite enjoyed it

I love Bains, better than most other Irish or Scotch I have tasted.

Bains is the best bang for buck great tasting Whisky imo. Love it.

I only drink Irish whiskey...can't stand the Scottish (and SA stuff). I've tried Chivas Regal in an emergency and had to switch to straight water.

But that's because Chivas is pretty s**t...

Nah, of course. Each to their own.

But you have some nice and varied whiskies on that list that I thought you might have liked some of them.

I'm not sure which one of them you tried, but Glenfiddich 15 year old Solera reserve is my favourite of all whiskies btw.

I don't like smokey and perfumy tastes. That might explain my dislike to most whiskies.

Oh, they will. Enjoy the ride. I find that I like the black label best neat. You should try the Jameson. It's a really nice whiskey.

Don't get me wrong, I love Scotch (my liquor cabinet is like 85% Scotch), Chivas just tastes like soapy water to me... Give me a Glenfiddich or Glenmorangie any day
