Does anyone know the price of Johnny Walker Blue in Checkers liquor stores?

Looking forward to your thoughts

So I couldn't wait until the weekend, and opened the bottle last night

Very 'heavy', compared to the Irish ones I've been drinking. Hints of molasses/caramel/heavy sugar. Definitely needs water to be opened up, as soon as I added some water, it smoothed out and the flavours really opened up.

For some reason it tasted better than it did in Singapore :D

On a separate note, you guys should rush out and buy as much of the nice whiskeys as possible. I just checked on whiskyexchange.com and this bottle sells for 35 pounds, which at today's forex is R790!

I finally opened my Quinta Ruban last night, and although I enjoyed it, I found it a bit on the sweet side.
It is quite potent, almost syrupy (don't know how else to describe it) and definitely made for sipping.
As with ll whisky I taste for the first time, I start off neat at room temperature, then a dash of water, depending on how it goes. This one goes well with a splash, and it opens up beautifully.
It compares well with the Necar D'Or in my opinion, although I find the latter a tad easier as a starter.

Funny. When I posted Monkey Shoulder people were it's so so. Now it's Monkey Shoulder ... ah yeah :D
