That was a bit over priced.

Yeah, I never knew it until I got the bill. I was taking clients to dinner, me and an American guy said lets have a whisky or two, walked to the bar and I said pick a number. He said 7 or whatever, I counted to the seventh bottle from the left and said 'two shots'.

This happened with quite a few whiskies and it was only when the bill came I noticed this one was about R220 a toot. It was a good idea at the time but I think i might have some explaining to do at the end of the month when when my expenses are checked :erm:

edit: I should say I'm in Sierra Leone just now which probably has a lot to do with the price, although the others weren't too badly priced

The first Peated Glenlivet whisky since the 19th century.

The Glenlivet Nàdurra range welcomes its latest addition, a Peated Whisky Cask finish, the first of its kind since the 19th century. This truly unique whisky is exclusively available to Bottleshop.co.za for pre-release, with only 50 cases entering South Africa it’s a true collector’s item fit for any whisky connoisseur.

The Glenlivet is touted as one of the world's most renowned whiskies with a strong legacy of excellence in the single malt category. The celebrated Glenlivet craft whisky range, Nàdurra, is a tribute to the historic traditions of making single malt whisky through new and innovative cask finishes. The Nàdurra Peated Whisky is a continuation of this proud heritage.
It’s elegant, sultry and gently smoked taste profile emanates from the same American oak casks that previously held heavily peated Scotch whisky. This is the first time since the 19th century that these methods, originally implemented by The Glenlivet founder George Smith, were applied to create a peated whisky.

This is a limited pre-release so order now to avoid disappointment and stand to win a one-of-a-kind suit tailoring experience with TailorMe. Order with the code NADURRAP to get free delivery.

Finally we get stock.

The olrosso sherry cask nadurra is fantastic.

I enjoy my whisky, but the recent increases in taxing and weakening of the Rand is really hampering my tasting "tour". I know for a fact that I do enjoy Scotch and Japanese whisky more than, say, Irish or US. I like peaty whisky and I'm not scared of a full flavour.

At home I currently have some Glenfiddich 12YO and The Glenlivet 12YO. Glenlivet is the winner of the two, by far. Fuller and smoother flavour and it just tastes more "refined".
