Started with a bit of sherry and followed a course via Campbeltown to Islay.

All you peeps who are more allergic to an Islay whisky than an enterprise polony can go check out tamdhu. Sherry bomb of note. Un-chillfiltered, cask strength. Fantastic!

That tamdhu at 58.8% Abv will definitely light up they mouth, does it take will to water?

Still very keen to try that Burgundy cask, I'm a big fan of Springbank. The distillery produces some great whisky but also quite pricey.

The tamdhu does have the hit you'd expect from cask strength but the sherry influence tames it down. I did add a few drops and it handled it well.

That springbank is by far the strangest whisky in my collection. There is nothing else that tastes remotely like it. It's not a bad thing but probably not something you should buy before you've gone through more familiar offerings.
 
This is extremely good. I still think the 10yo is better (and cheaper) but this is a worthy Ardbeg.

My collection is small (and at the pace I drink it, remains so).
