From that list, I'd go for the Glenmorangie, but that's just because I'm a sucker for a single malt. Also look for the Glenmorangie Lasanta in the same price class as a brilliant whisky. One of my favourites at this stage.
And you drink it neat ? Or with ice ?

Neat, with a drop of cold water to open it up. It's a sweet whisky, but water does allow it to open up very nicely.

There's very few whiskies I drink with ice. It's mostly the cheap peated stuff I like more with ice, like Three Ships and so on.

Interesting. Just one drop ? And how much whisky do you pour ?

Chivas and Dimple ? Kak ?
Chivas and Dimple are both blended whiskies, meaning you won't see "unique" in the offerings. They mix whiskies to get to a specific taste, and to me it's just "meh". That being said, they're both lekker whiskies though.

Not literally a drop, but just a little bit. I usually pour about ~50ml (double shot), sniff, sip and let it sit. A minute for every year on the age statement, so the Lastanta 12YO sits for 12 minutes. Sniff and sip again (massive difference). Then, to the amount, I add about a teaspoon or two of cold spring water. NOT tap water and not RO water. Taste again. Again, massive difference.

I don't like Monkey Shoulder at all. Terrible stuff. Chivas and Dimple have so much ****ing caramel added to ensure consistency of taste (E150a), a bit like JW Black.

A bit on E150a - this is the only additive allowed in whisky and theoretically it is not allowed to affect flavour, only colour. In practice this is bullshit and it is one of the methods employed by distillers how to achieve such consistent flavour profiles, prime example being blends like JW Black.

The best one out of that list is the Glenmorangie.

They're simply overpriced for what you get, IMO. One can only really qualify the flavour for yourself, having compared whiskies to develop your own impressions.

Let's just put it this way - I wouldn't pay R500 + shipping for an unaged, unknown statement with no information available. The fact that it notes butter in nose and palate is also not the best thing - specially in a new statement. Diacetyl is not a good thing.

Interested to know, if you whisky drinkers drink coffee, do you have sugar with your coffee?
Depends on the mood and coffee. Sometimes I take a half a teaspoon of brown sugar. Sometimes just a sweetener pill. Sometimes milk, sometimes not. Depends on what I'm in the mood for - same with my whisky.
