I didn't even know about the 4 main whiskey making areas - Islay, Speyside, the Highlands, and Cambeltown.
There are 6. Also Lowland and Islands. Each has a more "defined" flavour profile, but these days it's overlapping a bit, like peated whiskies coming from Speyside, etc.

Has anyone seen or better yet tasted the Jameson triple triple. Its duty free only. I know someone coming from New York but I can not find out if it is available in arrival duty free.

I'm flying on Tuesday. I'll check for you.

Does anyone know of any other gems which are exclusively available at duty free? I seem to recall that Johnnie Walker Island Green was hard to get last time I looked.

Sorry haven't yet given a review
I had to have another couple last nite just to make sure!
Very very smooth. Much sweeter than the normal Jamesons, but not intrusive and not as sweet as the Buffalo Trace I also had. Had no idea what a Malaga barrel was until I googled -
"Once known as ‘mountain wine’ Malaga wine is a wonderfully unique sweet wine made predominantly from white Moscatel and Pedro Ximenez grapes"
Leaves the empty glass with a very distinct coconut flavour.
Forgot to add it is @ 40% ABV
I have a connection for Duty-free so pm me if you are in the Centurion area

There's lots there, in departures and arrivals.

Added these to my collection

Added the Island Green to my collection in Aug. A very nice addition. I use this as my "get my friends to like peaty whisky" before hitting them with an Ardbeg or Laphroig :P

A local bottling from a local store, we'll have no trouble here.

OMW it sounds really interesting and 55.1% as well!

No way I'm paying R890 for a South African Whisky.

Why not?

Single barrel at cask strength with an age statement ticks a number of boxes. Besides there is certainly nothing wrong with the quality of whisky coming out of JSD.
