Unfortunately due to corona would be able to do the bains tour/tasting this weekend. Till next time then

I grabbed the:

Kavalan Solist Rum WB and the Glen Scotia 11yo WB

I've had my eye on them for a while but it was just a bit too pricey. I think today's deals made it really worth while.

Bottega also sent some very interesting offerings today on their Irish Whiskey. In line with St. Patrick's Day.

That rum cask finish is highly rated apparently.

Far from the best whiskey but at that price and delivered so no need to go to the store. Free delivery if you bulk up the order to 450.
Enjoy

And obviously a lot more stock available as well....
Please dont give people ideas. I can handle the lack of toilet paper and hand sanitizer but it will be the start of the Apocalypse when the shops run out of whiskey...

Not to mention it's dangerous advice. At only 40% ABV, coupled with all the impurities, it's pretty risky to recommend any alcoholic beverage as a "sanitizer". Closest would be your 80% ABV and higher vodkas.

I'm pretty sure it was a joke...not "advice". Actually I'm 100% sure.

Laphroaig is certainly up there when it comes to Peaty whisky. Some people can find it a bit ashy. I find the 10 to be a good combo of peat and slightly sweet.

The kilchoman machiar bay is a beauty. Not crazy peat levels but very very nice. (Also has a gift set option). The classic laddie is unpeated. If you want peat get the port Charlotte. TA also have that in a gift set (edit: out of stock)

Edit: also check these

Edit 2: three ships 10yo is also fairly Peaty and local is lekker.

My WB sale takings (except for the Kilkerran which I’ve been eyeing for a while and they had 1 bottle in stock)...

The ONLY reason to ever move to Gauteng...

They still have some extremely good March specials running. Some high end bottles have between R400 - R 1000 discounted.

Now is the time to buy some of the really good stuff.
