nce again, we hope you, your family and friends are well, healthy and safe.

It's no secret that whisky is about people and always tastes better shared, but due to the current national lockdown, that is sadly not possible. With this in mind we've decided to try our hand at an online live-streaming event: The Whisky Makes Me Happy Hour show!

Join us tomorrow, Friday 3rd April at 3pm, for our inaugural show aimed to bring together whisky lovers from all over South Africa to remotely share in some whisky fun from the comfort of your homes, with a dram in hand.

The live, video-streamed show will last approximately an hour and we'll be covering the following:
  • General whisky news
  • Icons of Whisky awards
  • Tasting the new BenRiach exclusives with BA Rowan Gibb
  • Special guest appearance by Andy Watts
  • New releases coming to WB
  • Q&A
If you want to watch along (and we hope you do), please register below. It takes 2 minutes and will enable you to receive a reminder email tomorrow before we start.

Opened a fresh bottle of Buffalo Trace yesterday evening, felt like I was opening a bottle worth 10x the value.

Anyone else concerned about the availability and price of whisky when all of this comes to an 'end' ?

Nope. Plenty of distilleries just switched to santiser during this, but I suspect it'll all return to normal after all this.

EDIT: Especially for big names and large manufacturers making stuff like Buffalo Trace.

Fingers crossed, does mean there wont be any supply available for a while though especially for us on the ass-end of the planet?

Well, shops aren't selling now, so I'm guessing there will be plenty of stock to go around.

I'm concerned about the drastic effect on the currency exchange which will affect prices eventually. The economic and unintended consequences of this action might be a huge problem for at least a few years...
