I would need a heads up. The first bottle I opened wasn't well received by all present on the day. I stuck it on a shelf and forgot about it for about 3 months. I came back to a completely different Whisky, so much better.

Seems to be a common thread with the ardbeg special releases. They seem to improve after some airtime in the bottle.

Mine still shows "Loaded on manifest to Cape Town facility".
My Tops will probably have stock already before it arrives :cautious:

My 2nd shipment has arrived.

Now just waiting on my 3rd and final shipment that has been stuck in Customs for 5 days.....

I topped up my Fusion count 2 weeks ago and got a bottle of the peated as well, mine's a different colour and 700ml though. Older imported bottling I guess.

How are the Indian whiskys? This and the Paul John i think? Is there anything 'mainline' one could compare them to?

That's a difficult one, I'm always so surprised when I first nose and taste the Amrut Fusion, it's just so nice.

I would compare it to an older Glen Grant with light Speyside peat. There's lots of Flora/sweet notes with just a slight peat(nothing medicinal/iodine). I've also had the Amrut Naarangi, that's so good but pricey. I'm not a fan of the Paul John, it's chalk and cheese. The Paul Peated is quite drinkable but not as memorable.

WaW's courier sucks. Website still shows.
Status: Loaded on manifest to Cape Town facility since the 2nd of September and it was collected on the 1st.
Will stick with brick and mortar stores in future :cautious:

Well put - for me Amrut is excellent, JP is pleasant.
