I saw an Islay Barley through a Tops window during the ban. Then when I went back for it, it was gone :(

There are plenty of competitors on Takealot in other categories who make it competitive. The stance of allowing ACA to continue at those prices makes that particular section of their marketplace a 'market for lemons.' And as such no-one will really buy from there. It may be they dont really know any better especially in the SM Whisky category.
So what happens is that potential Customer Joe wants to get a SM whisky but TAL prices are ridonk. Joe goes to Makro, where he also decides while he is there to buy all manner of other household goods that he could have ALSO got of TAL. Thus they dont just lose the SM sale but an entire basket. An any retailer worth the salt knows its about increasing basket size.

I highlighted some serious price disparities to TAL.
the takealot response was in short - 'go elsewhere then'.

see screenshots attached.

Just so this community knows as well. the Naspers arrogance as shown with DSTV, WILL come home to roost sooner or later. or maybe it wont .
I'm happy to support the makro's, ngf's, whiskybrothers, and others.

So it's the Bere Barley 2008, picture shows R1600. I'll confirm prices later in the week.

I went into my local Checkers at lunchtime looking for specials and they had nothing like these.
