Were you the guy at the whisky library with a bunch of people on Sat?
Do they offer "take-aways"?
Can I pour my glass into a sample container?
Only way I can add some Three Ships 10yo PX Cask finish to my shelf :ROFL:

Hahaha no that was not me, I make my own beer and stuff so I'm not an idiot in terms of how it's made. Maybe just describing how it tastes...No was at a friends house, a group of us enjoy whiskys etc. We actually doing an islay comparison for the first F1 race. So Laga 16, Laphroaig select and 10, ardbeg wee beastie and 10.

I don't know ask Jacques xD. I'm now in the South so it's driving for me so I may have to broach this topic one day too. That said I have probably got a lot of whisky in sample bottles to get through :D...

Didn't blow my skirt up at all...much better Whisky out there in that price range...like Talisker Dark Storm:

@binloud
So I've have the Tali 10, 18, DE, Dark Storm (fav), 57 North, and I've been pickling this Hepburns Tal 6 yo for a while, purely because its that rare it seems.
In that price range certainly the laga 16 and Tali Dark Storm would be my go-to choices.

I find that I'm drinking more whisky these days because of this thread :laugh::cool:

For those who might be traveling from/to Joburg airport. I saw bains 15 for R800 and all the three 18 editions (oloroso, px, fino) for R1250 in one small store on the ground floor.

Considering the prices I've been seeing for them, these are very nice deals

Especially the 18yo...going for R1700 at distillery

Although I am trying to sell my 2 bottles for that price. And I paid R1.8k at distiller about year and half ago.

I wonder how this will compare to the PX Cask...
Tasting notes listed are:

Aroma: Sweet and peaty with medicinal notes of manuka honey, gauze bandages, antiseptic lotion and an intense clove aroma, but also notes of smoked bacon. A distinctive character of leather, iodine and pine tar.

Taste: Sweet and aromatic, with rich notes of wax and furniture polish, followed by treacle, maple syrup, dark dark chocolate, combined with pencil shavings, pine needles and wood notes that smell of cedar.

Finish: The long finish is sweet and spicy, with chestnut honey and lingering antiseptic aromas.
