Caol Ila is Islay Whisky ...not Island Whisky.

This Crabbie 12 is most probably from Highland Park.
Ah misread that as Islay haha. I see peated and think Islay

Can't say I'm the biggest fan of Highland Park, well their 12 year at least.

I guessed jura. Either way I think it's a good dram to start the evening with. Very lightly peated and easy going.

I like Ardbeg 10 but want to try something else
Well then try it....Laphoraig has mainly TCP flavor profiles with it's peat and Talisker is more a briny, salty peat.

Asking what other people will choose is not going to make your choice easier...but with more knowledge on the taste profiles, it may help you decide.

Talisker is "easy" peat...Laphoraig is not to everybody's taste.

Thank you, will go Talisker this month and then Laphroaig next month. Only other option this month is Ardbeg Wee Beastie as I buy from takealot

Might get both as well, how is the Laphroaig 10 for you ?
I really enjoy it but would probably rather buy another bottle of Ardbeg 10, although it is nice to have different options and try different things. As MightyQuin said, Laphroaig isn't to everyones taste

Would definitely recommend the Wee Beastie, and on special for R499 is good deal.

Which one would you choose?
  • Talisker 10
  • Laphroaig 10
Quite a few restaurants have Laphroaig 10. Go try it. If you like it, buy it. Some may even have Talisker. Depends where you live I guess but it's worth trying before you buy.

Safe option: Bell's Special Reserve.

good buy but this was my least fav ardbeg release so far
It was OK, but did not blow my skirt up TBH. Drank some of mine and sold the rest I think.

Scorch was really good though...for a change.
Suppose it is the entry level Ardbeg but I still enjoy and bought more of it.

At last my own bottle of Booker's.

Did a combined shipment from MOM a while ago with @morkhans and when he fetched his loot, we had a impormptu bourbon tasting. He was generous enough to open his bottle there and then so we could taste.

And it was one of the best Bourbon's I've ever had...so I just HAD to get a bottle too. For all the real Bourbon lovers...get one of these if they are still available that is?
