Haha. No - I meant beauty.
Interesting. I enjoyed it.

The most disappointing one in the box for me was the Kilkerran 16. Was really excited for it and I didn’t like it. Maybe I over-hyped it and expected too much.
Yeah I think this was a tad overhyped although some early reviews were on point and said, the 12 is basically better. I don't see the Kilkerran 16 as something that will become a sought-after product, perhaps the 12 was too good. Maybe they'll find a cask combination that works, the first batch just fell short.

I picked up this bottle of Glen Scotia Victoriana for R600 at Checkers Liquor, Modi Mall, Modimolle. Bargain!

As well as a bottle of Loch Lomond 12 Year for R250.

How is the Glen Scotia? I got the same deal a few weeks ago.
I will have to go look for the loch lomond 12 year, They did not have stock in the store I went to, hopefully they restocked.

You probably won't find more. Checkers and Loch Lomond collaboration came to an end and they were offloading their stock at big discounts.

Has anyone tried this yet. What caught my eye on this is that they donate 5% of each sale to rhino preservation in Africa. I know this is a very good cause, but it also does not help that what is inside the bottle is toilet water.

@axsis tried it with friends on the weekend, I didn't see good reviews(I'd rather drink cat's piss). Maybe he can comment more.

Skip the kak whisky and rather donate directly to the Rhino Preservation...

I quite enjoyed it, it's not overly sweet and somewhat meaty (for me), it has enough going on that I'm not bored. But I also tend to like 'weirder' whiskies. I wouldn't call it toilet water, it doesn't have the harshness of new make, nor does it have a complete lack of flavour from heavily reused casks. It is probably friendly enough that most people wouldn't mind it but probably not going to be a favourite.

I think you can pretty much guess that this is something like Dailuaine, Mortlach, Benrinnes, Glen Elgin or Glendullan but realistically it could be any number of lesser-known Speyside distilleries. But these are the ones it reminds me of.

Before I tasted it I bought one as a gift for my father-in-law and he liked it but he's not had much experience with whisky. Packaging is neat and looks good so thought it was worth a shot, and reviews have been decent outside of my whisky friends.

The Glen Scotia is delicious! And the Loch Lomond is also not half bad.

Picked these up for me and other members of the Whisky Mafia.

Hi Whisky Lovers,

I have a question, I want to start a whiskey club something alike to Wine of the Month. Which whiskey distributors are best to work with in South Africa? I am looking at range and pricing.

Thanks

Hey, so Wine of the Month do have a Whisky Club - https://www.wineofthemonth.co.za/wh...sters_pack/88-whisky_how_often-every_2_months don't know anything about it, just seen it.

Only distributor I know is Karino Distribution - https://karinodistribution.co.za/

So a Double Wood Blend 12yo then.

This limited-edition whisky was matured for 12 years separately in American oak and seasoned Amontillado casks. I then had the great pleasure of selecting the best casks from these beautiful woods in order to craft my final blend.
